For food we had three starters, The plating in beautiful and expertly done, clean ingredients and super delicious. We also had their "Evening Star" cheesecake which was soft and was well plated as well, balancing bitter mint with blackberry and the soft Italian-like styled cheesecake expertly. We had The Raven for drinks and as an old fashioned super crisp and well mixed. Even though the starter were $10 each ( except the Poe-inous Brussels Sprouts which were $8) they were fully worth every penny. If I could give more stars for the easy-going service, the atmosphere and the food I would! Definitely returning!
I love the Poe references all around. The Annabelle Lee burger and fries were delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. I’ll be back!

Fantastic place to visit. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was unique and very well themed with Edgar Allen Poe. I will definitely visit again.
Love the theme and decor! I tried The Raven cocktail (Jim Beam blackberry old fashioned), the Shrimp of Usher, Poe's Phantom Curds, and the special Harmonious Medley Flatbread. None of them disappointed! I especially enjoyed the charred Jalepeno aoli served with the delicious Ellsworth Cheese Curds! I was also pleasantly surprised to see a bottle of Buffalo Trace behind the bar and enjoyed a double pour on the rocks. The service was top notch! 10/10 recommend!
The atmosphere is fun and distinctive, with a strong Gothic Victorian theme inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. The menu currently focuses on gourmet sliders and shareable plates. Our server was attentive, guiding us through the menu, options, and daily specials. We tried the Tell-Tale Melt Sliders, the Annabel Lee Spicy Smash Sliders, and the Haunter Dollhouse Basket (featuring dill-flavored cheese curds and fries), all of which were delicious. The blackberry chipotle jam on the Tell-Tale Melt was a standout! The presentation was beautiful, and the portion sizes were just right. I'm excited for their upcoming events and can see this place becoming a great addition to Wausau!
A little hidden gem. I've come for food and each time it has been the same great quality & taste. They have daily food specials that are hard to beat, like Date Night. Don't let "bar" intimidate you from checking out Nevermore, it's clean, comfortable & affordable.
Wow cool concept, it's fun trying to find all the hidden Poe memorabilia. Service was great, especially when there was only one server between the bar and the tables and it was busy. The waitress was going non-stop and doing an excellent job! I had the classic Masque Smash burgers (you get 3 smashed sliders) and they were delicious. One downside is it's street parking not a private lot.
The chillest vibe and the best bar food in Wausau! We’ve been here twice and love it. The specialty cocktails (gin fizz and old fashioned last night) are supreme. Our first visit was the Saturday Date Night special (a great deal that won’t stuff ya). The smash burgers are quality beef and love at first bite, and the flatbread is crispy with generous toppings. Our bartenders/waitstaff both times were competent and so fun to talk with. And then there’s the music … an eclectic and perfect mix to set the tone for the Victorian Goth atmosphere with Poe memorabilia. We’ll see you again soon!
